Kids Can Be Winter Heroes in Green Bay’s “Hydro Helpers” Program!

Posted on 12-05-2024

The Hydro Helpers program is returning this winter, and it’s the perfect opportunity for kids in the Green Bay area to shine as winter heroes!

This amazing initiative, a collaboration between the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, Green Bay Water, and Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe, invites children to “adopt” a local fire hydrant. Their mission is simple but important: keep the hydrant clear of snow and report any damage.

For their hard work, these young heroes will be rewarded with yummy hydrant-shaped cookies and special appreciation certificates from Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe at the end of the winter season.

This program not only teaches kids about responsibility but also helps strengthen the bonds within our community.

Open to families in the City of Green Bay, the Village of Allouez, and the Village of Bellevue, the Hydro Helpers program is a fun and rewarding way for kids to make a positive difference.
